Run Club for Mental Health!

Share the joy of running, build self-esteem, socialize, get outdoors, and have fun together!

This run club for adults is designed for beginners, runners recovering from injury/illness, or seasoned runners who want to learn how to slow down and run for mental health. All runners MUST be accepting of walking intervals as runs will blend both walking and running. This group is inclusive to all paces, gender identities, body shapes and sizes!

Run Details: Every run will include a 5-10 min warm-up and cool down; we will run for 30 min.

Dates: Mondays, 6:30 pm beginning 6/17/24-9/30/24.

Where: Hubbard Lodge, Cold Spring in Fahnestock State Park.

Group Facilitator: This run club will be facilitated by therapist and run coach, Maria Antell. Maria focuses on movement for mental health and has been running for several years while living with chronic pain issues. She considers herself a proud slow distance runner who finds meaning in collective movement and believes that running is for everyone. In order for it to be for everyone, Maria believes running must be accessible and inclusive, which is why this run club will have a “no person left behind” approach, such that the group will blend running and walking and everyone will begin and end together.

This run club is FREE and you do not need to commit to all sessions, but screening is required prior to participation. Please complete the registration form below if you are interested and Maria will contact you to discuss the group details.

After 9/30/24, a new location and new dates will be established. Each run will also be based on a “pay what you can” or “donation.” More details coming soon.

Thank you!
